#306. 11/2/09 – Jasmine holds her new baby, Jerry,
with her parents, Ilde and Dora
I have known Ilde and Dora since I first came to Croc in 2006. They pastor a church in Croc. Their daughter Jasmine just had her first child two weeks ago. It was really nice to visit this family and share in their joy over this new life. Jerry may be very small, but he was wide awake when I visited. I am looking forward to seeing them all again as they have invited me back for lunch on Wednesday.

#303 – 1o/30/09 – new bike rack at the Roasterie Coffee Shop
It’s been wonderful to be in the states for the last two weeks and get to enjoy the fall! It still felt like summer in Croc when I left. I have loved seeing the leaves’ beautiful colors. It was so great to walk through all the fallen leaves this morning on my way to The Roasterie and then to get a hot drink was just the icing on the cake. I love the fall! I miss the fall!

#302. 10/29/09 – a retro table and chair set I found at River Market Antiques
I spent the afternoon walking around the four floors of the River Market Antique store in downtown Kansas City today. It is one of my favorite places in KC. I found several years back when I lived near the City Market. I find it therapeutic to browse through all the old stuff. It’s kinda like a hands-on history lesson. And I just like antiques. I am always looking for an old piece of furniture to add to my collection. Today I found a steal of a deal. The table and four chairs were just $125. I didn’t buy them because I don’t actually live in my house right now, but I really like them. That’s what makes antique stores so great. You can enjoy looking even if you don’t buy anything.

#300. 10/27/09 – Dinner with Sara and Lynelle
Tonight I co-hosted a birthday party for my best friend Emily. We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory before returning for my house to hang out for the rest of the evening. It was wonderful so see so many friends in one night. As I took the time to catch up with everyone, I soon realized that almost every friend at the table was also one of my financial supporters! I am so blessed to have such great friends and supporters.
